Weather during a game:
All play is to be suspended immediately if lightning can be seen or thunder can be heard. The Lightning Detector, located in the concession stand, should be consulted on a regular basis, particularly if storms are known to be approaching. This is true for games or practices and especially batting practice.
REMEMBER: If thunder can be heard, you are already within range of a potentially deadly lightning strike. If play is suspended, players, coaches and parents should move immediately to the interior of a car. No one should take shelter under the concession canopy during a thunder and lightning storm, as it is not safe from a lightning strike. Umpires or coaches can suspend a game due to weather. If an umpire OR a coach feels there is a risk, either can suspend play.
30 Minutes must pass after the last evidence of Thunder or Lightning. Ask yourself; is it worth the risk of losing one person to lightning just to get in a game? Think about it... Weather before a game:
Always assume your game is going to be held until you find out otherwise. Weather can change rather quickly and it is up to the Home Team Coach to go to the field and determine game status for the day, this may not allow ample time to notify your teams of cancellations. Games will be played unless there is Thunder or Lightning sighted or
