Hello ... my name is Carey and I'm a Wheaties-aholic. It's been six days since my last baseball game.

No games, no practices, no pithy e-mails. No fun. Oh, I've tried. I put the Wheaties cap on for a while...nothing. Went for a drive...and all I could think about were the bats I heard clanging around in the trunk. Still haven't taken them out.

And tomorrow? I'm REALLY not looking forward to tomorrow. Tomorrow's Saturday ... usually a game day...but not tomorrow. I'd normally get up early Saturday, check the calendar to see what time the game was ... check it again about a half hour later because I forgot when it was ... or where it was ... or, maybe the game is Sunday and I just read it as Saturday..so I better check the calendar again. You've been through it, you know what it's like.

Maybe I need to take up a hobby. Gardening, maybe. I tried gardening last year...grew a tomato plant that was six-feet tall. It was big and smelly and produced four tomatoes about the size of golf balls and just as hard. I never really liked gardening.

I did see something on TV that inspired me. Women's volleyball. Now that's a sport! Not to play so much ... just to watch. Maybe THEY need a team parent ... a towel boy...someone to massage those tired muscles. Have to give that one some more thought.

In the meantime, I'll just, you know, take it one day at a time...
