Looks like good weather (finally) for practice tonight but I wanted to send out a reminder for Twins Night. It is for May 30th against the Yankees and sign ups need to be turned in by the 12th. Speak to Heidi for further details @ 952.945.9709 or at the games this weekend.

05-01-08 It seems not everyone got this message from Heidi on Tuesday so I'm reposting it here:

Parents.

Just wanted to let you know there has been a change made to our schedule. Saturday May 3rds game at 9:30 a.m. on Field #3C between Rays and Athletics will be moved to 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 21 on Field #3B. Please mark your calendars of the change.

It seems mother nature has different plans for us and being able to play baseball lately. So PLEASE be sure to practice at home with your kids at least 30min/week just playing catch, doing pop-ups and grounders. If you can get batting in too, great! An hour/week with the coaches is NOT going to be enough. Plus your kids will appreciate it and you'll be creating some nice memories for you both. Just have fun with it.

The canceled game of 4/26 will probably be rescheduled and we will get you more details when they become available.

Twins game for May 30th--speak to Heidi for further details but I believe sign up ends next week. Reach her @ 952.945.9709

Plan on practice tomorrow as who knows when/if it rains, as it looks now. Our game is on Sunday @ 1:30pm on 3B. Be there no later then 1:15pm to get warmed up.

It looks like the weather may hold out untl 7:00. We are going to try and get this practice in before our 1st game on Saturaday @ 11:00. Peter has asked that all players arrive at 10:45 on Saturday.

If the weather turns bad, We will be calling you and informing you of any cancellations.

Practice is @ 5:30 tonight @ Scenic Hgts in the back of the school. I'm not sure what the weather has in store but unless it's lightning out, we'll have it. At the very least, so we can hand out the uniforms and stuff as our pictures are @ 8:50am tomorrow at the East Mtka Middle school just off of 101. Please be there 15min early so we can get organized, forms filled out and turned in for pictures.

Couple of things. First, Clean-Up Day has been changed to this Sunday April 13 at Noon (from Saturday, April 12th). Your help is needed and very much appreciated. Please bring work gloves and a ladder. We hope to get the ETLL batting cages, fences and wind screens installed.

Good Afternoon Parents.....I am Heide Baer and I am the team parent for the Devil Rays this year. We will have a short team meeting at the first team practice, but for right now I need to get jersey sizes for all of your players. They come in youth sizes S, M,and L. Please email me back as soon as you can with that information. We will be putting the kids last names and numbers on the jerseys and hats. I need to get these turned in by tomorrow so they will be ready for the pictures. I will fill you in on everything else at the first practice. If you have any questions, please feel free to call me

Couple more things for CP6 Rays I wanted to get out:

Be sure to check out our website. It can be found at:http://www.etll.org/teams/923.html One can find most info there and unsubscribe to emails if so desired.

The schedule should be up once finalized but games will be @ Bennett on the weekends.

Players are required to provide their own glove, helmet, and protective cup. Baseball shoes are recommended. Players will receive a hat, jersey, pants and socks at the first practice.

Welcome to the 2008 season! The other coaches and I are looking forward to working with your kids this summer, playing some baseball and having some fun! More details to come so stay tuned but here's what I have so far:

The coaches pick up the equipment on April 12th so practice may start the following week if the fields are dry. Our scheduled practice time is going to be Friday's @ 5:30pm @ Scenic Hgts Elementary. Sorry about the day and time but we get what we get in the lottery system (it was Thurs or Friday and by the time it was our turn, it was only Friday).

Team Pictures are Sat. April 19th @ 8:50am @ the Mtka Middle School East. Arrive 10min early to get organized. Wear your uniform, hat and bring your glove. No bats please.

The Team Parent meeting is next Tuesday (thank you Heide Baer!)so we should have some more info on Twins Night, the golf fundraiser and other things related to the team.

That's all for now but we look forward to spring and getting practices started with your kids.
